Nambu is a powerful 6-operator FM synthesizer developed by iceWorks Inc. This AUv3 plug-in synth is not designed to recreate the sound and workflow of vintage FM synthesizers, but rather incorporates modern ideas for a unique sound experience.
The synthesizer engine of Nambu features six operators, each with six different types to choose from. These include FM operators for frequency modulation, analog synthesizer oscillators, noise, texture, resonators, and filters. With 11 LFOs, 11 envelopes, and a step sequencer, users have extensive control over shaping their sounds. Nambu also offers a three-band EQ, compressor, saturator, chorus, delay, and reverb for further sound manipulation.
Nambu is a universal app, compatible with iPad, iPhone, and Apple Silicon Mac. However, it is important to note that it is not compatible with Macs running on Intel CPUs. The product supports AUv3 plug-in format, allowing users to integrate it into host applications that support AUv3.
Please keep in mind that Nambu is not intended for reproducing the sound of acoustic instruments or other synthesizers accurately. It focuses on creating its own unique sound. Additionally, it does not support MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression) and is not compatible with vintage FM synthesizers for importing presets. The CPU usage of Nambu may be higher compared to other iceGear Apps.
